About Jai

Jai began his legal career in India, where he practiced for ten years including as litigation and corporate counsel at a large international law firm and as Director of Criminal and Civil Litigation for the Human Rights Law Network. He worked on high-profile public interest cases in India, including compensation claims for victims of state-sponsored killings and a large-scale right-to-food class action. After being accredited in Canada in 2010, he joined a large international firm in Vancouver, later becoming class counsel in major Canadian class actions including the '60s Scoop and the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement litigation, in which he represented over 300 residential school survivors. He is a seasoned insurance defence counsel handling complex personal injury claims, including traumatic brain injuries and chronic pain, and has also represented First Nations in election, land, and commercial disputes. Jai has been a member of the Law Society of British Columbia since June 2013 and the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa since November 2002.
