Paul's practice focuses on municipal law, labour and employment, local government issues, and policing, with experience before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. He regularly appears before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and the Ontario Police Arbitration Commission. Paul has acted on a number of coroners' inquests and was lead counsel for Elliot Lake and its fire department during the Elliot Lake Mall inquiry. He founded and directs the Wishart Municipal Law Group, which serves municipalities across the province, and he speaks regularly on HR and local government issues, particularly in Northern Ontario. A former volunteer firefighter in the Algoma District, Paul is a certified trainer facilitator through the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal, and he has served two terms as a director of the Algoma District Law Association.
