About J.

J. Andrew Fraser is a partner at Stewart McKelvey in Halifax with a litigation and advocacy practice. He has appeared before courts in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and the Federal Court of Canada, as well as before arbitrators and mediators. His work spans complex commercial litigation, shareholder disputes and oppression remedy claims, construction litigation, insurance defence and subrogation, class actions, and estate litigation. Fraser has also represented clients in expropriation matters and before specialized tribunals such as the Utility and Review Board. He holds an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School, an LL.B. from Dalhousie University, and a B.A. (honours) from Queen's University. He was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2000 and the Ontario bar in 1993, and was appointed King's Counsel in 2018.
