About Ryan

Ryan Lebans is a Partner in Cox & Palmer's Halifax office, practising mainly in insurance law, medical defence, and commercial litigation. He represents major insurers and independent adjusters responding to claims involving automobile accidents, property damage, professional liability, errors and omissions, product liability, and occupiers' liability. In his commercial litigation practice, Ryan represents companies, sole proprietors, and financial institutions across a range of commercial disputes, and he acts as counsel to the Canadian Medical Protective Association and its member physicians. He is a graduate of the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, having earlier completed a BA Honours at Mount Allison University and an MA at the University of Ottawa's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, and won several academic awards along the way, including the 2013 Smith Shield moot competition.
