Born and raised in Calgary, she earned a Bachelor of Applied Communications from Mount Royal University in 2005 and a BA in Communications Studies from the University of Calgary in 2009, followed by a JD from the University of Calgary in 2013. Before law school she worked as a technical writer and emergency preparedness planner for government departments. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 2014 and practised with a small Calgary firm before relocating to Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan in 2016, where after her Saskatchewan Bar admission she worked as a Crown Prosecutor for Saskatchewan Justice and Attorney General, serving rural northern communities for over two years before returning to Alberta. Her work at Ackroyd focuses on civil litigation, criminal defence, Indigenous law, and environmental and regulatory law.
