About Gong
Gong Chen was born in Shanghai and raised in Montreal, giving him an early appreciation for how language and culture shape people's experience of the legal system. He is fluent in English, French and Mandarin. Gong earned his LL.B. from the University of Montreal and his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2024. He began his career in tax law, working on negotiations between the federal government and private enterprise, before moving into criminal defence. His practice now focuses on Charter litigation, search warrants, firearms offences, violent crime, drug charges and driving offences. Gong brings the same analytical rigor from his tax background to protecting clients' rights in the courtroom, aiming to combine a strong defence with an empathetic approach.
