About Micaele

Micaele Zaffina grew up in downtown Toronto after being born in Brooklyn, New York, an upbringing that shaped his understanding of how socio-economic conditions affect people's lives. He played rugby semi-professionally in England and France and still volunteers with the Toronto Inner-City Rugby Foundation, helping young athletes access opportunities. He holds an Honours B.A. in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University and an LL.B. (Hons.) earned at the University of Sussex in England. After returning to Canada, he completed his National Committee on Accreditation exams and bar exams, then articled at Yeghoyan Law Office, a criminal law firm in Oshawa, before joining the firm. His practice focuses on criminal defence, including violent crime, drug offences, youth justice matters, and firearms cases, and he speaks English and French.
