About Godfred

Godfred Chongatera is originally from Ghana, where he received his Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Ghana. He went on to complete a Master of Laws at the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University, a Master of Arts in Sociology at the University of Western Ontario, and a Certificate of Qualification in Law from the National Committee on Accreditation. He articled with Stewart McKelvey in Halifax and was subsequently called to the Nova Scotia Bar and admitted to the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society. He serves as a board member of the African Diaspora Association of the Maritimes and the African Community Investment Cooperative of Canada, and his cross-cultural legal education and community involvement help him serve clients from diverse backgrounds.
