He is a Registered Trust & Estate Practitioner and assists clients with wills, alter ego and family trusts, and tax-planned corporate reorganizations, and has advised corporate and co-operative boards on governance. White is a former Managing Partner of Patterson Law and has served as Legal Counsel and Secretary to the Royal Commission on Health Care in Nova Scotia. He was appointed King's Counsel in 1998 and earned his LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 1974, and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for trusts and estates and corporate law since 2018. White lives in Truro and Toney River, Pictou County, and chairs the Election Commission of Nova Scotia.
