About Gary

Gary has represented First Nations and Inuit organizations as legal counsel, political advisor and negotiator for many years, with involvement in constitutional development, treaty making and land issues, and the development of First Nation governance. His experience includes participation in the establishment of Nunavut Territory and the patriation of the Canadian Constitution, along with negotiation of the Maa-nulth, Tla-o-qui-aht and Homalco Treaties. He serves on the board of the Chief Joe Mathias Scholarship Fund. He earned his LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick and his LL.M. from the University of Texas, and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1982.
