About Frédéric

Frédéric Nadeau earned his law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1991 and was admitted to the bar in 1994, after also studying journalism at the Université de Montréal. He began his career as a case examiner with the RCMP's External Review Committee in Ottawa in 1995, then moved into private practice at Trudel Nadeau Avocats in 1998. He became one of the founding lawyers of RBD Avocats in 2016 and has served as senior partner since then. Over his career, Nadeau has argued cases across labour relations, including collective bargaining, occupational health and safety, unfair labour practice complaints, essential services disputes and human rights matters, along with several constitutional challenges tied to labour relations. He has written extensively for Éditions Yvon Blais, lectured within the labour movement, and served on the Canadian Bar Association's Quebec labour law section, including work on the section's 1998 submission on 'orphan clauses.' He has also been a longtime member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers, serving as its Quebec vice-president from 2018 to 2020.
