About Ernest

Ernest is a senior partner at Gittens, Escott, Nwokedi & Associates with over 40 years of practice in family law, personal injury, and civil litigation, appearing before all levels of court in Newfoundland and Labrador and the Supreme Court of Canada. He earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ottawa in 1981 after an undergraduate degree in sociology from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Canadian Bar Association, and a past president of the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association. Ernest has also served as past president of the YM-YWCA and former chair of UNICEF Newfoundland and Labrador.
