About Erin
Erin Breen, KC practices criminal defence, with a particular focus on matters under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in 1997 and a Master of Arts in History in 1998 from Memorial University of Newfoundland, then a law degree from the University of New Brunswick, where she received the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers prize and the Blake Lynch prize in criminal law and evidence. She was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador bar in 2003. Breen has been recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada since 2017 and was named Lawyer of the Year for criminal defence in 2020. She represented the family of Donald Dunphy at the Dunphy Inquiry in 2017 and has volunteered with the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted.
