About Eric
Eric founded Williams Litigation Lawyers and has practised civil and corporate litigation at every level of court in Canada, acting as counsel in more than 185 civil trials and appeals. He is best known for a 2007 Supreme Court of Canada decision in which he successfully defended two homeowners and their insurer against social host liability claims. He has been recognized since 2006 in Best Lawyers in Canada across several categories, including Appellate Practice and Insurance Law, and was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers that same year. Eric earned his LL.B. from Queen's University in 1972 and a B.A. in Biology and Physics, also from Queen's, in 1969. He served as Deputy Small Claims Court Judge in Ottawa for over 15 years and remains active in the Advocates' Society and in mentoring other lawyers.
