About Eric

Eric J. Gagnon is an associate at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP practising primarily civil litigation, with a focus on insurance law, personal injury, and commercial litigation, alongside a wills, trusts, and estates practice. He joined the firm as an articling student in 2024 and became an associate in 2025. Before law school, Gagnon earned a Master of Arts in political studies from the University of Manitoba, focusing on political and moral philosophy, and holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the same university. During law school he competed in the French stream of the Canadian National Negotiation Competition, was a French oralist in the Laskin Moot, and clerked for the Provincial Court of Manitoba in 2023. A francophone from Sainte-Agathe, he organized his hometown's annual community festival for nearly a decade and serves on the Manitoba Bar Association's branch council. He offers services in both English and French.
