About Jon

Jon van der Krabben is an associate with Restall & Restall LLP whose preferred area of practice is family law, along with civil litigation, real estate, and wills and estates. Born and raised in Winnipeg, he earned a BA from the University of Winnipeg in 1985 and an LLB from the University of Manitoba in 1988, and was called to the bar in 1989. He practiced in Steinbach, Manitoba until 2007. Jon is a life member of the Manitoba Bar Council, a life bencher of the Law Society of Manitoba, and served as the Law Society's president from May 2006 to May 2007. He was a Family Law lecturer at the former Bar Admission Course and later a Learning Group facilitator for the CPLED course, and served on several provincial court judicial nominating committees and the federal Judicial Advisory Committee for Manitoba.
