About Emma
Emma Smith is an associate in Osler's Disputes Group. Her practice covers general civil and commercial litigation, with particular focus on disputes arising from construction and infrastructure projects, class action defence, and health-related advocacy. She also sits on the firm's Construction and Infrastructure Group and completed a Certificate in Construction Law through Osgoode Professional Development in 2024. Smith holds a J.D. from Queen's University along with a Bachelor of Arts, Honours with Distinction, majoring in political studies and minoring in global development. Before her summer term at Osler, she worked at a litigation boutique focused on medical malpractice, professional liability, and personal injury claims. During her studies, Smith served as a case worker with Queen's Legal Aid and led a project with Pro Bono Students Canada, and she continues volunteering with Pro Bono Ontario.
