About Emily

Emily Banks is a partner at KMB Law and a member of the firm's Family Law group. She was called to the bar in 2016 and has practised primarily in family law in Peel since then, appearing in both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. Her earlier experience in criminal law gives her a particular perspective on the intersection of domestic violence and family law matters. She represents clients through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and court on issues related to relationship breakdown and parenting, and also represents parents in child protection matters. She graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2012 with an Honours degree in Sociology, then completed the Dual J.D. program at the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy, earning both a Canadian and an American law degree.
