Émile B. Denault holds a law degree from the Université de Montréal. He developed his interest in union-side labour law while working as a student at Unifor, in a legal department representing workers on accreditation, occupational health and safety, and disciplinary grievances. A sports enthusiast, he was a finalist at the 2022 Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada, a university mooting competition on NHL salary arbitration involving about thirty Canadian and American schools. He articled at RBD Avocats before being admitted to the Barreau du Québec in 2023, and now practises labour law there.
