About Elizabeth
Elizabeth Akan is a lawyer on the Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning team, where she helps clients with individual and corporate wills, prepares continuing powers of attorney covering property matters, and drafts powers of attorney addressing personal care wishes. Her grasp of estate law allows her to weave trust provisions and beneficiary designations for registered accounts and insurance policies into a client's will, and she also guides executors and trustees through administering an estate. Elizabeth was called to the Ontario bar in 2022, having previously been called to the Nigerian bar in 2006. She holds a Master of Laws in corporate and commercial law and a Bachelor of Laws from Queen Mary University of London, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calabar in Nigeria. She belongs to the Canadian Bar Association and Ontario Bar Association.
