Alan Mark serves as counsel in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group and co-leads the Securities Litigation and Energy Groups at Goodmans. His advocacy practice spans corporate and commercial litigation, class actions, and electricity law and regulation, with the commercial litigation work focused on disputes involving corporate governance, corporate finance, securities, financial services, and restructuring and insolvency. His class action practice includes securities, product liability, and environmental claims, and he also maintains a substantial electricity and regulatory practice representing clients before the Ontario Energy Board and the courts. Mark has appeared at all levels of the Ontario and other provincial courts, the Federal Courts, and the Supreme Court of Canada, and he's represented numerous Fortune 500 companies as lead counsel in high-profile domestic and cross-border cases. He's been listed as recommended counsel by Chambers Global, Chambers Canada, Best Lawyers in Canada, The Legal 500 Canada, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, and Benchmark Canada, among others. In 2022, Benchmark Canada named him Ontario Litigator of the Year and included him on its list of 50 trial lawyers in Canada. He's a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Litigation Counsel of America, a former director and past president of The Advocates' Society, and a longtime trial advocacy instructor at Osgoode Hall Law School and The Advocates' Society.
