About E.

Patrick Shea is a partner in the firm's Toronto office, practising in commercial law with particular focus on bankruptcy and insolvency. A certified specialist in bankruptcy and insolvency law, he has acted for clients in large corporate restructuring and insolvency matters in entertainment, retail, automotive, airline, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors. He advised the Government of Canada and governments in the Caribbean Region on the reform of their insolvency laws. He was an instructor for business law and insolvency portions of the Bar Admission Course run by the Law Society of Ontario and taught an advanced restructuring course at Queen's University. He is past chair of the Ontario Bar Association's Bankruptcy and Insolvency Section and the Canadian Bar Association's Insolvency Section. He was awarded the Law Society Medal in 2015, the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012, the Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers in 2018, and the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025.
