About Doug
Doug Richardson is a partner whose practice focuses on media law, with more than two decades of experience advising news organizations and other publishers and broadcasters. He provides round-the-clock pre-publication advice to news outlets, book publishers, websites, and podcasts, and defends clients in defamation, privacy, and copyright matters. His work also includes advising on publication bans, access to courts and tribunals, access to information requests, and negotiating and drafting agreements for licensing content. Doug frequently delivers legal seminars and writes on media law issues. He earned his BA (Hons) from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1991 and his LLB from the University of Western Ontario in 1994, and was called to the Ontario bar in 1996.
