About Doran

Doran Chandler's practice focuses almost exclusively on legal services for the entertainment industry, including advice on development, production and distribution of television, film and new media projects. He has extensive experience with complex financings, including treaty (Telefilm) co-productions, CRTC co-ventures, production services arrangements and Canadian-content productions, and advises producers on US and Canadian guild matters. He is recognized in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and Who's Who Legal: Canada (Sports & Entertainment), and has represented Canadian and international producers, US studios, writers, novelists, directors and artists across scripted and unscripted film and television productions. He also advises on production-related music rights and the book publishing industry. Chandler is a regular guest lecturer at the UBC Allard School of Law and has taught Entertainment Law for UBC Continuing Studies. Before co-founding Chandler Fogden Lyman, he practised entertainment law with Roberts & Stahl and Davis LLP in Vancouver.
