About Dominic

Dominic Mochrie's practice centres on franchising and distribution, marketing law and general commercial matters. He offers pragmatic, business-minded guidance to franchisors ranging from new entrants building their first franchise network to large multinational franchisors with thousands of franchised locations, and also assists clients with commercial issues such as consumer protection, retail and marketing. His experience covers a wide array of franchise systems, including in the hospitality and fuel retailing sectors, and he advises franchisors on the structuring, risk assessment and mitigation involved in mergers and acquisitions. Dominic has also helped franchisors tidy up their franchise programs ahead of a sale. He has served on planning committees for the Canadian Franchise Association, the American Bar Association, the International Franchise Association and the Ontario Bar Association, and is recognized as the Canadian franchise law expert for the International Distribution Institute.
