About Derek

Derek Novosel practises construction law, construction litigation, and civil litigation. Before law school he worked for several years toward his journeyman carpentry certification through Red River College and Assiniboine Community College, and worked on residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects across Manitoba. He studied philosophy at the University of Winnipeg before earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba in 2023, and was called to the Manitoba bar in 2024. He received the Neil James MacDonald Memorial Prize for Criminal Law in 2021.
