About Dennis
Clarke graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador with a B.A., from the University of New Brunswick with an LL.B., and from the University of Washington with an LL.M., and was called to the Newfoundland bar in 1994. His practice covers general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, and energy and natural resources law, and he represents venture capital companies, junior oil and gas companies, mining companies, and technology start-ups on corporate structure, financing, intellectual property, and joint ventures. His notable transactions include acting as lead counsel for Fishery Products International in its $300 million sale to Ocean Choice International and Highliner Foods, representing Nalcor Energy in the Maritime Link and Labrador-Island Link negotiations with Emera, acting as lead counsel for PAL Aerospace in its joint venture with Airbus on the Fixed Wing Search and Rescue Aircraft bid, and acting as lead counsel for Marine Atlantic in its purchase of the Ro-Pax ferries Blue Puttees and Highlanders from Stena. He has been recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada for corporate law, energy and natural resources law, and mergers and acquisitions since 2006, and sits on the boards of Aurion Resources, the Swilers Rugby Club, the NL Sports Complex, and C-CORE.
