About Denise

Denise Sayer is a business litigator who represents large and small companies in corporate commercial litigation, having appeared at every level of court across Canada, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice's Commercial List, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and numerous commercial arbitrations. Much of her practice centers on shareholder disputes at closely held private corporations, where she has dealt with issues like misappropriated corporate funds, inadequate disclosure to minority shareholders, governance breaches, and diluted ownership stakes. Before Paris & Sayer LLP was formed, Denise's litigation practice covered corporate, commercial, and class-action matters, including time at the Toronto firms Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP, and she earlier clerked for the Ontario Court of Appeal after completing her Bachelor of Laws at Queen's University in 2005. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Laurier University, worked in management at Bell Mobility before entering law, and outside of work enjoys knitting, jewelry-making, and spending time with her two sons.
