About Deborah
Deborah Berlach is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer who focuses on professional liability matters and class actions at Stieber Berlach. She approaches each file by weighing the issues, her client's perspective, and the applicable law to reach the right outcome, often recommending mediated settlements while remaining ready for the courtroom when needed. Debbie has conducted numerous trials, including jury trials, argued many appeals, and represented clients before administrative tribunals such as the Ontario Human Rights Commission. A graduate of McGill Law School, she was called to the Ontario bar in 1984 and has practiced continuously since. Her insurance-based practice covers professional liability claims, commercial disputes, class action defence, and coverage disputes, with much of her recent trial work centred on complex medical malpractice claims and coverage applications.
