About David
David Thompson holds a 1979 Bachelor of Commerce and a 1983 law degree, both from UBC. Called to the bar the following year, he has concentrated his practice in tax matters since the mid-1980s and is a certified trust and estate practitioner. Rating publications such as Lexpert, Martindale-Hubbell, and The Best Lawyers in Canada have identified him among the country's leading tax and estate lawyers, and he has taught continuing-education tax courses through organizations including CLEBC, CPABC, and the CRA. He previously worked as a forestry contractor before entering the legal profession and helped establish the group that became Avalanche Canada.
