David Morawetz is a member of the commercial litigation group, practising civil and commercial litigation with particular attention to contract disputes, real estate conflicts, construction matters including liens, breach of trust claims, and prompt payment adjudications, plus employment law, shareholder disputes, and appeal work. He works with clients to resolve disputes cost-effectively. Before joining Beard Winter, he worked at a boutique litigation practice in Vaughan and at a mid-sized Toronto firm recognized for construction and civil litigation work. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, including a precedent-setting Court of Appeal decision on an illegal-substances clause used in residential real estate contracts. He earned his J.D. from the University of Toronto in 2013, an LL.B. from the University of Leicester, and a B.A. in history from Queen's University, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2014.
