Business & Corporate LawDavid Colford joined Brisset Bishop in 1980 after a teaching career and became a partner in 1985. Colford's practice covers commercial and corporate law in the maritime industry, with particular focus on multi-modal transport issues, contractual disputes and litigation before the admiralty and civil courts, and Colford has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada on several occasions. Colford continues to teach courses on admiralty and general transport law and gives presentations to law students, freight forwarders, shipbrokers and transport-industry operators. Colford was called to the Quebec Bar in 1980, holds a B.A. Honours in Classics and a Diploma in Secondary Education from McGill University, and earned an LL.B. and B.C.L. from McGill in 1978 and 1979. Colford is a past president of the Canadian Maritime Law Association.
