About Mélanie

Mélanie Chaperon practises landlord-tenant law in Montreal, focusing on residential rental property owners. She advises on lease drafting, legal notices such as notices of legal hypothec, and negotiations, and represents clients before the Administrative Housing Tribunal, the Court of Québec, and the Superior Court. She also teaches residential rental workshops for real estate investors and brokers and has been an OACIQ-accredited trainer since 2015. She has spoken at conferences held by the Montreal Bar and the Administrative Housing Tribunal, contributed a chapter on named contracts to the JurisClasseur Québec, and chaired the board of Perspectives Jeunesse, a nonprofit combating school dropout, from 2011 to 2015.
