About David

David Davies is a tax litigator who challenges adverse reassessments issued by the Canada Revenue Agency. He represents corporate taxpayers as well as high net worth individuals who find themselves targeted by CRA audits. His work covers disputes over corporate tax planning, scientific research and development claims, crypto-currency and derivative gains, offshore income, and registered plans such as RRSPs and TFSAs. David often wins cases on procedural grounds, arguing that income was assessed against the wrong taxpayer, in the wrong year, though he's equally prepared to fight a reassessment on its substantive merits. He began his career as a tax planner at Thorsteinssons before moving into litigation, and he has appeared before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Courts, and the courts of Ontario and British Columbia.
