About David

David Baxter is a partner whose practice focuses on tax planning for individuals, trusts, and corporations across domestic and international matters, including divisive reorganizations, estate planning, business structuring and sales, life insurance issues, foreign affiliates, and cross-border structures. His clients range from owner-managers to private and public corporations, and he also advises non-residents, including people planning to immigrate to Canada. David received his law degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce with honours from the University of British Columbia, and he was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 1994. He frequently lectures tax advisors and businesses on tax planning and has written courses on business succession for chartered accountant institutes in British Columbia and Ontario.
