Darwin Hanna is a founding partner of Callison & Hanna, focusing on treaty negotiations, specific claims, self-government, and economic development. He holds degrees in criminology and law from Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia. For 25 years he has taught First Nations and Economic Development as an adjunct professor at UBC's Allard School of Law, and he authored a book on legal issues in Indigenous economic development. He founded a language revitalization foundation society and serves on the board of the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology. Darwin is a member of the Nlaka'pamux Nation from the community of Lytton in the Fraser Canyon of BC.
