About Daniel
Daniel McNamee was born in Montreal and grew up in Toronto, where he earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto, along with a second law degree from the University of Western Michigan, graduating magna cum laude. He has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia in both criminal and civil matters, with over ten years representing clients in court and before administrative tribunals, at trial and on appeal. His practice blends criminal and civil work, including complex Charter litigation involving the striking down of legislation, exclusion of unlawfully obtained evidence, and stays of proceedings for Charter breaches. He has helped clients recover millions of dollars through settlements and trials and has defended civil claims brought against them, and he has assisted clients in appeals from both conviction and sentence.
