About Daniel

Daniel Batista serves as Of Counsel and focuses his practice on securities, corporate, and commercial law, with particular depth in the mining sector as well as several other industries. He advises institutional shareholders, investment funds, and public and private corporations, along with their boards, committees, and management teams. His deal work covers a wide range of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, both contested and negotiated, alongside public and private financings. Daniel also handles corporate governance, stock exchange compliance, and other regulatory matters. Before his current role he practiced at Fasken and Davies Ward. He earned his JD from the University of Toronto in 2001. Clients value his direct negotiating style and his focus on practical, risk-conscious advice.
