About Dakota
Dakota Forster maintains a broad litigation practice that spans tort claims, construction law, health law, class actions, professional negligence, commercial disputes, and insurance coverage disputes, along with appellate work. He aims for early, cost-effective resolutions where possible but represents clients firmly when a matter proceeds to court. He has appeared in the Small Claims Court and the Superior Court of Justice, argued before the Divisional Court, and gone before the Licence Appeal Tribunal and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. Before joining his current firm he practiced at an insurance defence litigation boutique in Toronto, and previously worked at both a family law firm and an intellectual property litigation boutique. He earned his J.D. from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2019 and a B.A. (Hons.) in political studies and psychology from Queen's University in 2016, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2020. While in law school he worked as a caseworker for Pro Bono Students Canada's Family Law Project and Trans Family Law Project.
