About Colin
Colin Smith is a partner who advises on income tax matters affecting domestic and international business ventures, including appeals to the Canada Revenue Agency. He focuses in particular on tax planning for private corporations and on estate planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals. Colin frequently lectures and writes on tax topics, with articles appearing in Federated Press and Canadian Tax Foundation publications, including Tax Highlights and Tax for the Owner-Manager, as well as in Canadian and Ontario Bar Association materials. He has spoken at conferences hosted by the Ontario Bar Association, the Strategy Institute, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, and has authored and taught courses for that institute. He earned his B.A. from Huron College at the University of Western Ontario and his LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick, and was called to the Ontario bar back in 2000.
