About Emily
Emily Barwell is an associate in the Financial Services Group at Osler's Toronto office, advising financial institutions, equity sponsors, and corporations on financing and commercial matters, including project finance, domestic and cross-border lending, acquisition finance, syndicated lending, and structured finance transactions. Emily joined the firm as a summer student in 2022 and returned for a second summer in 2023, then completed articles in 2025, including a secondment at a major Canadian bank. Emily earned a JD from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where Emily received the top mark in Corporate Transactions and Advanced Secured Transactions courses. Before law school, Emily worked in the legal department of a major Canadian financial institution.
