About Cara

Cara Valiquette earned her Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto and a Master of Laws at Osgoode Hall Law School. Before opening her own practice in Muskoka in 2012, she worked for the Ministry of the Attorney General and as an associate lawyer at several private firms. Her practice is varied, with a focus on civil litigation, including wrongful death claims and historical and institutional abuse cases on behalf of plaintiffs. She has also appeared in court on behalf of First Nations governments and has argued at Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal on numerous occasions. Cara represents minors in civil proceedings on behalf of the Office of the Children's Lawyer.
