Real Estate LawJim McIntosh is a partner at Barriston Law who focuses on municipal and land use planning law. He advises municipalities and utility suppliers, including hydro distributors and electrical utilities, on governance, land development, and land acquisitions. Jim graduated from York University in 1982 with an honours degree in political science and philosophy, then earned his law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1986 before being called to the bar in 1988. Early in his career he built experience in real estate, corporate and commercial work, and litigation, and he later spent several years as Chief Agent in Canada for a major title insurance company. He served as Barriston's Managing Partner from 2010 to 2021.
