About Hugh

Hugh MacInnes is a business, human rights, and employment lawyer with 24 years of experience helping companies of all sizes solve problems and reach their goals. Born in Nova Scotia and raised in Summerland, he studied at St. Olaf College in Minnesota before attending law school at the University of British Columbia. He spent 13 years as in-house counsel for Weyerhaeuser, an international forest products company, before returning to private practice as a contract in-house lawyer advising on business, employment, human rights, corporate and commercial, technology, forestry, environmental, and competition law. Hugh joined Gillespie & Company in 2014, and he has volunteered for nearly 15 years with the Thompson Nicola Cariboo United Way, currently chairing its board.
