About Blair

Blair W. Keefe is a partner with decades of experience advising major Canadian financial institutions on regulatory matters, and he has served as counsel on some of the country's most complex issues in the sector. He co-heads the firm's Bank Regulatory, Financial Services, and Insurance Regulatory practices, advising on corporate and regulatory matters affecting financial institutions as well as on M&A and corporate finance in the industry. Peers regard him as especially knowledgeable about the Bank Act, and his background also covers insurance and bank regulatory work, banking and debt finance, and payments and cards. In 2011, Blair took part in a regulatory advisory group supporting a federal task force that reviewed Canada's payments system. He has also advised the life insurance sector in Canada regarding capital rules for insurance holding companies and on government bills that amended financial institutions statutes over the years.
