About Ben
Ben Horovatin is an associate in Thomson Rogers' Planning, Expropriation, and Municipal Law group. He previously articled with the Region of Halton, working through rotations at the Halton Regional Police Service and the Town of Oakville, where he handled a range of municipal and planning matters and appeared before Ontario tribunals. Before that, he spent a summer in the Enterprise Risk Management department at the City of Calgary. Ben earned his JD from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2024, and while there he volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada supervising mock refugee hearings. He also holds a bachelor's degree in international economics from the University of British Columbia, completed with distinction, where his focus was econometrics and development economics. In his free time, Ben enjoys cooking, travelling, and taking long walks with his fiancée, Emma.
