About Barry
Barry Scott graduated from the University of Western Ontario Law School in 1971 and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1973. Barry Scott practised as a student, junior lawyer and partner with the firm now known as Siskinds the Law Firm until 1994, when Barry Scott left to open an independent office that grew into Scott Petrie LLP. The practice centred on real estate and real estate development, with a particular focus on condominium law, acting extensively for condominium developers and condominium corporations. Barry Scott lectured on real estate and condominium matters in the Ontario Bar Admission Course from 1985 to 2005 and served on both the London Chapter Board and National Board of the Canadian Condominium Institute, later recognized as a Fellow of the Institute. Community involvement included the London Chamber of Commerce, the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority and the London Home Builders Association. At the end of 2020, Barry Scott retired from active practice but continues to provide consultation and support to the firm.
