About Austen
Austen Metcalfe co-founded Collins & Metcalfe LLP, where he practices labour law, human rights law and professional regulation. He earned his law degree at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2018, following an honours BA in religion and classical studies at Bishop's University and a master's in religion at Queen's University. Early in his career he worked at community legal clinics in Brantford and Halton Region before joining a union-side labour boutique in Hamilton, continuing to advocate for workers' rights. He has appeared before tribunals including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Social Benefits Tribunal and the Landlord and Tenant Board, and has handled grievance and interest arbitrations as well as appearances at Divisional Court. Austen volunteers with the 519 Legal Clinic and Pro Bono Students Canada, and sits on the board of Parkdale Community Legal Services.
