About Anne
The Honourable Anne W. MacKenzie K.C. is associate counsel at Hira Rowan LLP following a 34-year judicial career. She served at every level of court in British Columbia, including as Associate Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia starting in 2010, the first woman to hold that role, and more than 12 years on the Court of Appeal for British Columbia before retiring from the bench in May 2024. Called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1978, she earlier practiced for 11 years as Crown counsel with the federal Department of Justice. Anne is a fully accredited family law mediator and has developed experience across civil, criminal, commercial, family, and administrative litigation, including personal injury, medical malpractice, construction, insurance, and wills and estates matters.
