Anita K. Atwal, KC, is senior legal counsel with expertise in workplace law, governance, and ethics, and is frequently appointed as an independent investigator, mediator, and advisor in complex and sensitive matters. She began her legal career in 2006 at a large regional Vancouver firm, developing a civil litigation practice in local government, policing, labour and employment, insurance, and commercial litigation, before joining a boutique labour, employment, and human rights firm in 2017. She founded Anita Atwal Law in 2022, and in 2023 served as Interim Director of Human Rights at Simon Fraser University. She currently serves as Integrity Commissioner for the City of Maple Ridge, Ethics Commissioner for Legal Aid BC, and on the Board of the Fraser Health Authority. She was appointed King's Counsel in 2026 and is fluent in Punjabi.
